Taylor University offered its first distance learning course in 1938. This course was taught through correspondence via the postal service and was offered for the purpose of academic enrichment and personal growth. Since that time, the distance learning program has changed names numerous times over the years to reflect technology upgrades and the mission of the University, before receiving its current name, Taylor University Online, in 2008.
